One of the most interesting and unique moments on a wedding day is the time when the Maid of Honor and the Best Man have the opportunity to address the Bride and Groom, family and all their guests with their so well prepared speech. Better known as the wedding TOAST, this thoughtful synopsis of the newly wed's lives before becoming husband and wife can be full of all kind emotions and anecdotes that can be sometimes wonderful memories or past embarrassing situations that the bride and groom did not know about each other.

Traditionally, it’s the best man who delivers the primary speeches. Once he is finished, other wedding toasts take over. This is one of those rare occasions where other guests get an opportunity to participate in the special day and enjoy. Wedding toasts also provide a good way to translate the mood of the occasion from a formal one to that of an informal and more relaxed one. Once all the champagne glasses get filled, the tradition of proposing these toasts takes over. You need to raise your champagne filled glass with the right hand and straight over your shoulder to go about toasting.

So it is up to the Best Man or the Maid of Honor to tell those stories to the wedding guests. Funny wedding toasts are a great way to give the wedding guests a little insight into what the bride and groom are really like. Most of the guests probably don’t know the bride and groom as well as the Best Man or Maid of Honor , so these stories can be very entertaining for them.

Keeping it simple and tasteful is the trick, going overboard and embarrass your best friends on their wedding day can sure keep you away from future family gatherings.

So when preparing your speech for your best friend's wedding, make sure you don't leave out the most important message in the many pages you are writing. Its all about colors. I love when weddings are colorful and different. It can be as simple as little balloons that match your bridesmaids dresses, or converse shoes of different colors for the groomsmen. You can be as creative as you want when in comes to make sure you have unique photos on your wedding day.

It makes it so much fun for the bridal party and it allows your photographer to incorporate fun and fresh shots to your wedding album.

Capturing a moment with my camera has become more and more interesting every time. The romantic and emotional moments in a wedding are sure very important, but the unique and spontaneous episodes that the newly weeds create are indeed very funny sometimes. I love those opportunities, they are so unique and allow me to capture the couple being plain silly for a few seconds. The whole wedding planing and the actual wedding day can be a little stressful to some brides that they forget sometimes that is all about the fun. Thanks Good they have me there to make sure those moments that go so fast are being recorded forever. This is one of my favorite moments, one shot, one second and one memory saved forever. When Heather and Brandon saw this photograph after their wedding they loved it. "It is us Dario" they said. And they also told me that they have a copy of this image in each others office. I was so excited to know that they loved all the pictures but even more when I knew that I was able to give them a memory that they will cherish for the rest of their life.

Back in March we had the privilege of photographing Michelle and David's wedding for the second time. Yes! Second time... They live in Miami but they have made arrangements to get married in Ecuador in a beautiful private ceremony close to the beach. They had previously celebrated their wedding a year ago in Miami and planed for the other half of their journey to be in Santa Marianita Ecuador. They are deffinately my favorite couple. From the enagement session, the wedding in Miami then in Ecuador and finally this, their bridal session. Today they have a compilation of unique memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives. For the bridal session we went to two different locations Deering Estate and Vizcaya. Michelle works so good with the camara and I love working with her every single time. I have always said it is all about the attitude and if you have a beautiful couple and they have the right attitude and enthusiasm to work with you the results can be amazing.

We took Gisselle and Mike to the beautiful South Beach for their engagement session. The warm sand, the green grass and an amazing summer blue sky created the perfect scenario to capture their love for each other. They look so cute together and of course their energy and enthusiasm made my job so much easier. We ran, we went up and down we even got a little wet on the beach. But above all we had so much fun. I was so happy with the photos when I went back to the studio, I had so many great images that I am really looking forward to the day of their wedding. But for now I will let you enjoy some of my favorite moments.

El 30 de Abril pasado celebraron su matrimonio Karim y Raúl. La ceremonia se realizo en la capilla del colegio Julio Pierregrosse seguida de la recepción que se llevo a cabo en el domicilio de los padres de la novia. Nosotros tuvimos la satisfacción de documentar su boda y capturar los mas importantes momentos y únicos detalles que adornaron la iglesia y la recepción. Una celebración por todo lo alto en donde sus amigos y familiares disfrutaron de una increíble fiesta que culmino con un espectacular show de fuegos artificiales. Album Design Guidelines...

Creating your album can be a long and tedious process. But we are here to make sure it is a fun and easy process for you, putting lots of tools and information on your hands to guarantee that your custom made album is done in a timely manner and the end results are exactly what you want. Here are some steps and helpful information to start the album of your dreams.

SELECTING YOUR IMAGES:

You have all those amazing images from your wedding day and you are probably thinking" what should I do now?" "I want them all in my album".

But the truth is that you don't. Yes! you don't need all your images in your album. The wedding album has to be creative and fun, elegant and beautiful even thought you have lots of great pictures from your wedding you cannot place them all in there. The recommended amount of photos in a single wedding album is "80" some going up to "100" photos. But there is a reason why photographers use these magic numbers. One of them is design you cannot design an album with more than 100 photos without making it look crowded, besides the fact that an album with too many photos will not leave enough room to have the images in a proper size, the more images per page the smaller they have to be. Next to that, other problems arise from having too many photos, the album becomes to heavy to handle and no one wants to hold an album that weights 30 pounds and looks like and almanac. Then there is price the bigger your album the more it cost to manufacture and many other reasons that are not even worth to mention.

So remember you want to keep your album fun. Condense the story of your wedding in a way that everybody can relive those special moments without getting bored half way into the album.

With this in mind here are some tips to select your images:

- Go to your online gallery and create a folder and name it album images (select the images included in your album contract. We do not recommend you to exceed 100 photos). Now drop your images in that folder. Take your time. Selecting your images can be fun and if you let your spouse participate, it will be a nice experience to share.

- Start with an order in mind. Getting ready, dress, details, etc. All the images tell a story and you are the star.

- Continue with images of the ceremony and family portraits then reception and try to collect the images from the most important moments. The walk, the vows, the kiss, etc. We deliver all the images in chronological order to make your selection easy, we strongly recommend you to follow it.

At this point you might have more than 100 photos but you can start narrowing them down, removing repetitive images and eliminating images of far relatives or no so close friends. Remember the album is about you.

Don't forget to select details for some backgrounds and nice effects. And also make sure to have an image of you and your spouse in mind just in case you want to have a cover image for your album. (save the image number you will need it later)

Once all your images are selected send us an email letting us know you have dropped all the images in the folder. We will review your selection and will give you our feedback. If we think you need to make a better selection we will contact you back. Otherwise we will contact you to start your album design process.

THE DESIGN

At this point you will receive and e-mail with a link to an online form for you to fill out with important information to create your design. Make sure to review the form before clicking the submit button. All the information in that form will help our designer to create an album according to what you like.

Once we receive your album notes we will forward the notes to the designer along with the images you have selected and the design process will begin. This process will take approximately 5 to 6 weeks. Once your design is done you will receive and email with a file or a link to view your design. At this point you have 4 weeks to review and approve your design. You have one revision of unlimited changes included with your album. (please view our "What are album revisions and changes" for more information). Please make sure to submit your revisions on time. If we do not receive your revisions within the 4 weeks your design will be filled and there will be a $25.00 release fee to revise your file again. At this point we will take your notes and send them to the designer, after 3 to 4 weeks you will receive another email informing you that your changes have been made. Now you will have the option to approve your album or to purchase more revisions. (if you have to do revisions after the first one due to the fact that the new design was processed incorrectly in our part we will do the proper corrections at no costs to you, Otherwise a new revision will have a one time fee of $100.00).

If a new revision is requested by you, you will receive an email with the steps to process the new revisions. Please be aware that no revisions will be submitted to our designer without its proper payment.

Here the process repeats itself. After 4 weeks your will receive a new draft for you to view and approve. The process will continue until you are completely satisfy with your design and we will get ready to print and bind.

Now is time to send your album to the binder you have approved your design and we have all the information to send it out. This process its the most important one since once the album is sent to print no more changes can be made. At this point your album must be paid in full no album will be sent to print without full payment.

(we have to use this measure because it is a requirement from our binder).

Your album is sent to print and bind now this varies depending of the season but it usually takes between 8 to 9 weeks. Once your album is done we will contact you to arrange your pick up or delivery.

We take the up-most care and attention to details when it comes to create your album and even when this has been a long journey we want to make sure no detail has been left out, after all our albums are unique pieces of art that hold the most important memories in your life and they are certainly the most beautiful heirlooms you can leave to your children and your family for many generations to come.

An amazing sunset and a beautiful blue sky were the scenario for Dejah and Rolando's wedding day. Family and friends gather to celebrate and congratulate the union of this beautiful couple. We started at the JW Marriott In Downtown Miami with the beautiful bride getting ready along with her sister and best friend to then go to Miami Beach where Rolando awaited anxiously for the arrival of his beautiful Bride. It was a ceremony filled with emotive moments just how this couple have planed. After the Ceremony we returned to the hotel to start the party. Joe is a Firefighter that loves his job but He loves Jackie even more. For their engagement session we could not resist to the fact that we had to do the photos at his workplace the Hallandale Fire Rescue Department. We had such a blast the other day at the beach with this wonderful couple. Coleen and Mark are the perfect example for the words "Made for each Other". I met Michelle almost six year ago and we have so many stories together. But my favorite is probably the one that we always said neither of us will ever get married and that we will travel around the world taking pictures and drinking wine, at least that was the plan. Well, guess what?... I was very surprise when she gave me the news that her boyfriend David had proposed to her and they were getting ready to tie the knot. Immediately I knew that I had to take their pictures and right away we were making plans for the wedding day, I am thrill and very exited to document my best friend's special day and be part of it at the same time.

Last November 20th I had the privilege to participate in an extraordinary event at the Miami Children's Museum, the Miami Dade County Court System celebrated the National Adoption Day. A wonderful day were Approximately 85 children were adopted. I was lucky to be part of it and see first hand the emotion and happiness of the families when they received by the judges the documents that will change their lives forever, new families were form and in between tears of joy and unforgettable moments many children were finally legally adopted. Thanks to Adopt a Bear who donated the beautiful bears that were given to each adopted kid, they not only walked out with new parent but with a new friend that will be for sure a great reminder of such an special day in their lives. I had so much fun photographing Carolyn last weekend. She is so full of energy and really knows how to work the camera. Dress like a monster a naughty nurse or a creature out of this planet not necessary means Halloween. There is lots of different options when you have to select a custom for your children or even yourself. Cute always beats scary and it doesn't matter how costly or elaborate you choice is, it is all about having fun. It is true that every year there is less interest about this ancient tradition, but those who wait anxiously every year to dress up for this occasion creativity and originality is a must. So it doesn't matter what are you gonna dress like this year or if you don't have the money to buy an expensive Dracula or Sexy nurse outfit. Grab what you can find, gather with your family and friends and get out on the 31st. There is nothing more rewarding on Halloween than get home with your bags full of candies, drop them on the floor and stuff yourself whit them. For the kids is a great time, for you an excuse to walk and exercise a little and of course dress up like your favorite childhood hero and look dumb. Don't worry I am also happy that is only once a year after all... is that SCARY? I don't think so.

It's been six months since Nicholas first photo session and he is SO BIG now. A week ago his Mom planed to bring him to the play ground, his favorite place. I cannot believe how much energy he has, once again he put Mom and Dad to run and jump with him. I am always on the move looking for a new location where to shoot. Having to do my pictures on the same place all the time can be boring some times. So A couple of weeks ago I grabbed my camera, filled up the tank and went for a ride to find my next location. It took me almost two hours but at the end I came back home with new ideas for my next session. All I need it now was a subject.
When I met Alexia I new I had to take her to one of my new locations. So we set everything up and with very few directions and in a couple of hours I was able to capture her beauty in this black and white images that I want to share with you.

I am always looking for new places to photograph. So three weeks ago I decided to take a walk around Downtown Miami and let me tell you, everywhere I turned my eyes there was a beautiful wall, an interesting structure and places that I have taken for granted before became the focus for my next photo session. At the end of the day I left with so many ideas on my head that I wanted to bring my next subject to this locations and go crazy shooting. So I selected my next victim, got everything ready and headed Downtown to get all those shots I wanted. At the end of the day I couldn't ask for more, a beautiful model, the perfect scenario and no rain. Truly a new way to see Downtown Miami.

It is amazing when people goes the extra mile to help others, specially children. People like Michelle Gillen chief investigative reporter at WFOR-TV Miami. She is a very busy reporter yet she finds the time to help these kids giving them love and making sure they are not being forgotten. This is a very interesting program from which I am very happy to be part of. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed by our day to day lives that we forget about the people around us in our own neighborhoods that need some help. There are many charities out there collecting money to help others, but what it is interesting about this program is that we are teaching our kids to share by adopting a bear that will go to a less fortunate child. Bringing a little joy to comfort abused and neglected children by giving them a little bear that can help them ease their suffering. The name of the program speaks for itself "Adopt a Bear". A Fratternity with a big Heart...

The American Fraternity was created on 1989. Ever since it has come a long way doing an extraordinary mission helping immigrants to become part of the American Society. Today they are a strong voice for this community, working hard along a group of volunteers to let the world know about their efforts. Each year thousand of immigrants are being deported because they have no legal status in this country, victims of a system that fails to reform the immigration law. But they not only struggle by the trauma of the deportation procedures, they also have to suffer the terrible faith of leaving their American born children behind. And these children are the ones to take the worst part, not only because they have witnessed officials break into their houses in the middle of the night to take away their parents as criminals, but for the terrible trauma they experience after. This inocent children end up in foster houses creating a chain of terrible events that will affect their development and future social integration.
Nora Sandigo is the Director for the American Fraternity. She and group of amazing and caring people are fightnig for this kids. It has to be clear to all of us that no children shall be separated from their parents, what the Goverment is doing is senseless and irresponsible, These are American children like any other in this Great Nation and they do not deserve this terrible faith.

The children of Fotomission.

Year after year Fotomission has taken the responsibility to give back to this community. Being a volunteer operated organization they not only promote and operate photographic exhibitions to create awareness and social change with photography, but they also have brought a group of volunteer photographer to donate their time an talent to photograph children. Children that are located in foster houses waiting to be adopted, these are the hard to place kids that because of their age are sometimes left behind. Thanks to this beautiful program called THE WAITING. These kids may get chance to be seen through a photograph.
This is the first year I've taken part on this great project. Here are some of the images I want to share with you of such a wonderful day I spent photographing Martha, Kevin and Isaiah.

A few days ago I was honored to watch how much love a mother can have for her baby and the way that baby show his love back to his mother. I might not be too good to describe love in words. Tiny very tiny yet with a big heart. Every time I visit my friend Adriana it is quite a revolution from the moment she opens the door Coco her little chihuahua starts jumping around. He wants all the attention and he will not stop until he gets it, he is the star and until you turn around and pet him he wont stop barking or liking just to make sure you say hi! to him first. He is just so cute and loving that you cant stop playing with him. A few days ago while I was photographing Adriana's little baby Coco was all over the place as usual and between the breaks I decided to get a few shots of him, he is such a model; with his little sailor outfit I can almost assure he knew what I was doing, every time I pointed the lens at him he will look and pose like a professional. We could not stop laughing and it is because of moments like this that I enjoy mi job so much. I got amazing pictures of the baby and at the same time Coco posed for me too now he can start his own portfolio. Ay Coco! Ay Chihuahua!...

Why u playing?...

I still cannot get that phrase out of my head and every time I hear it I can't stop laughing. It is contagious, for unknown reasons and at simple as it might be that was the best way to get Rocio to give me that beautiful smile you see in every frame. Some times when you play a little you can get more natural and fresh expressions out of your subjects especially when you are in a studio session. Everyone that has work with me knows that I am not a big fan of indoors sessions. For so many reasons I feel like my imagination gets limited to the four walls where we are shooting. With nothing happening on the background and moving up and down to get the right angle can be very hard. Or so I thought... But I must admit that sometimes I prove myself wrong. When I was booked for this session I could not imagine the great time I was going to have, and after a few shots to warm up we were ready to go. I have to be honest having such a beautiful subject made my work so much easier. Wardrobe changes, props and a great sense of humor help me get so many good shots that have really made me re-think again about studio sessions. So if you ask me Why u playing?... all I can say is Why not?...

Every time I work with them I have so much fun because you never know what they'll be doing next and I love the challenge of capturing in a split second a priceless expression. Meet MIA. She is only a couple of weeks old and she is the most adorable baby. During this session she was just like a professional model so sweet and calm all the time like if she knew what we were doing. After posing for all the pictures she decided to take a nap, opportunity that I used to get more great shots. I am definitely looking forward for her next sessions that along with her mom's maternity shoot will create a beautiful record that her family will enjoy forever.

I met Johanna and Christian a long time ago thanks to my friend Michelle. Last year They gave us the news that they were getting married and of course I told them that they had to let me photograph their wedding. The time went by so fast and all of a sudden we were planing the engagement session and the wedding day. I had so much fun working with them and very honored to be part of such an important day in their lives. Little patience always pay...

I have scheduled Monica to have her Maternity session for Saturday. We had everything ready to go; the time, the location and the weather. But this last one was not exactly as we planed, of course! we are in south Florida where a beautiful sunny day can change in a second. It was raining all day and the time for the session was getting close. Monica was sad, after all the preparations it seemed we were not going to be able to shoot. So I told her not to worry, Let's wait and see.
After a few minutes the dark clouds passed and Miami's beautiful blue sky showed up. We got ready and head to the beach to start shooting. I must say we made the right decision. The pictures turned out great and Monica finally got the images she was looking for.

Long time surprise...

I met Adriana back in Ecuador quite a long time ago. Two weeks ago she called me over the phone to give me the great surprise that she was in Miami. But as it was not enough she also share with me another yet greater surprise. She was pregnant! After a long conversation we decided that I have to photograph her. It was very important for me to document such a great moment in her life. Being this her first baby I could feel her excitement and when I told her what we should do, it took us just a few minutes to start setting everything up for her maternity session. The day of her session came and when I saw her after all this time I was thrill. But she had one more surprise for me, little Coco her small chihuahua . Her first baby as she called him. So everything worked perfectly. A beautiful afternoon, the loving soon to be parents and coco of course who kept us running around all afternoon.

I must admit that wen I get behind the camera I just cannot stop shooting. Specially when everything seems to be working perfectly. The light the place and the subject. Johanna & Christian could not have made this session more beautiful, they are so funy and easy to work with. When I realized I have gotten so many great shoots in less than two hours I was very Happy. So we wrapped it up and left. I know she could not wait to see her images so I decided to let her have a sneak peak at what I captured that awesome Sunday afternon.

The beauty of an expecting mother is unique. This is Ericka's first baby and when we met for this session she was so exited to be photograph. This will be a great memory for her little baby girl and the entire family. Non Stop Fun...

I must say that I love photographing babies. Every time is different some of them cry some of them smile and others are just an explosion of energy. With Ruben Alejandro was a non stop walking, searching and a never ending curiosity with everything around him. He kissed, hug, jumped on top of his mom he simply didn't stop and kept her running after him all morning. Of course that offered me the opportunity to capture his fun and sweet personality. He wants it all! And one he sets his mind on something he goes after it.

Playing with shadows...

Playing with light can be interesting. Shadows and highlights can create amazing effects that make a picture stand out and when you transform that image to the gray scale those effects can be really amazing. I met Bessy six years ago in my photography class. When we decided to do this session I remembered how much she loves black and white photography, so I tried to work with shadows as much as I could to give her more dramatic black and white images. The result a session that ended with a set of images that are not only unique but fun to do.

When Wai contact me after more than six years without hearing from her I was very exited, but when I found out that she has a baby named Nicholas I could only say one thing to her, we need to do some pictures of him. Without much effort we started a session a week ago with Michelle. It is the second time I photograph her, and I must say she is getting better and better. It might be difficult to strike a pose when you are not a professional model but with enough practice the results can be amazing. She is very happy with the images and so am I. Anna call me up one day and told me that she wanted one photo to give as a present to her dad. At the beginning I thought this was going to be one short and simple job. At the end we were having so much fun shooting that we ended up in a full session with more than one picture for dad. She was very happy and had a hard time choosing the right image. This is one of my favorite shots. When Andrea told me she wanted to have pictures taken just for fun I said; why not! . One morning we head to the beach and in a short time I had so many wonderful shots. She was so comfortable with the camera I barely had to give her directions. When I was editing her pictures I was so pleased out of something that did not have much planing I was able to get amazing shoots that actually show her true beauty and great personality.

Flying High...

On August 2nd 2008. Kenny went for the ride of his life. We can only imagine the thrill of flying on a helicopter but he had the opportunity of actually fly one. Thanks to his parents that surprised him with an awesome birthday present. Along with his instructor Kenny flew for almost one hour over Miami. The experience was "so cool" as he described. And for me a unique opportunity to document it.

Getting ready for your photo session...

When I photograph I always try to make it comfortable and fun for my clients. It is also very important to remember the following tips for the day of your session.

Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and that allow you to move naturally.
Plan your outfits completely (including accessories and shoes) a few days ahead of time.
- Try to avoid too much time in the sun the week before your photo session and try to hide tan lines with your outfits
Location has to always be kept in mind when selecting clothing for the shoot.
Avoid high heels if you are going to a park or to the beach.
Black is not a good color for places with rich vegetation.
Earthy colors combine beautifully in natural locations with flowers and vegetation.
White shows very well when shooting at the beach in the afternoon’s soft light.
If shooting under bright light conditions, white turns out too bright and softer colors such as ivory or cream are a better option.
Avoid Patterns or stripes on clothing and heavy jewelry it can be distracting. Remember the pictures are about you.
Once you have made your selection bring extra combinations for unexpected changes.
It is very important that the clothes are loose to avoid marks on the skin.
If you are using your hair loose please bring something to hold it up in case it is too windy.
Make up should be keep minimal unless done by a professional. Wear your makeup the way you do normally, make sure to put on fresh mascara avoiding makeup with SPF or sunscreen, it will make your face too shiny. A natural look will do great.
-Drink lots of water starting two weeks before your session to keep your skin looking great for your photos
